BLUE HOSE MEN'S BASKETBALL LOSES CLOSE ONE TO CARSON-NEWMAN ON THE ROAD 58-56

JEFFERSON CITY, TN -  Carson-Newman held the Blue Hose to two points in the first six minutes of action, before going on to win their second conference game of the season, 58-56. The Eagles improved their record to 8-6 overall, 2-1 SAC, as the Blue Hose fall to 9-5 overall, 2-1 SAC.

Kyle Gribble was the only Eagle with a double-double, as he finished the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dustin Edwards came off the bench to contribute 13 points to Carson-Newman's winning effort. Drew Hayworth netted 10 points for the Eagles. The Blue Hose were paced by D.J. Humphries double-double (17 points, 15 rebounds). Rod Isom (12 points) and Jeff Whittle (11 points) both scored in double figures for Presbyterian. Carson-Newman's defense forced 23 Blue Hose turnovers. The Eagles shot 72.7% from the free-throw line as they hit 5 of 6 during the last :37 seconds to seal the win against Presbyterian.
