PRESBYTERIAN'S RAYFORD PILES ON THE ACCOLADES
WITH SAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK SELECTION

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Presbyterian guard Chuck Rayford (Greenville, SC) has been named the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced today.

It has been quite a week for the 6-1, 180-pound junior, as he scored the 1,000th point of his career in an upset win against #15 Shaw University.

On the court this week, Rayford scored a team-high 18 points to go along with a pair of rebounds in PC’s 62-59 loss to USC Spartanburg. Later in the week he scored a season-high 28 points with four rebounds and three steals in PC’s 78-73 upset victory. He hit 10-of-11 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory for the Blue Hose. On the day, Rayford shot seven-of-14 from the field and 13-of-14 from the free throw line.

Rayford now has 1,024 career points, the 12th player in Blue Hose history under head coach Gregg Nibert's tenure to reach that plateau. For the season, Rayford is averaging 16.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and is shooting 39.3% from the field, 27.9% from three-point land, and 78.6% from the free throw line.

The SAC Players of the Week are determined by a vote of the eight sports information directors of the league.
