FORMER SOUTH CAROLINA “MR. BASKETBALL” 
TRANSFERS TO PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE
 

CLINTON, SC — Former Berea High School standout, Willie Brown, has transferred from Furman University to Presbyterian College to continue his basketball career, announced today by 13th-year head coach Gregg Nibert.

Brown was named the 1999 South Carolina AAA Player of the Year and AAA Mr. Basketball at Berea High School where he led his team to a 26-6 record his senior season. Brown averaged 17.0 points and 5.0 assists per game at Berea while earning All-Region, All-County, and All-State honors.

“We are very excited that Willie has chosen to come to PC,” said Nibert. “Willie is a skilled player with great athleticism and we are pleased that he will be joining our program.”

The Blue Hose are coming off a 19-10 overall record in 2000-01 season and a runner-up finish in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. PC returns three starters and nine lettewinners from last season.
