PC’S RAYFORD NAMED TO DIVISION II BULLETIN PRESEASON HONORABLE MENTION ALL-AMERICAN TEAM

CLINTON, SC — Presbyterian College’s junior guard Chuck Rayford has been named to the Division II Bulletin preseason honorable mention All-American squad released today.

Rayford, a 6-0, 180-pound guard from Greenville, SC led the Blue Hose men’s basketball team in scoring (16.7), assists (3.14) and steals (1.55) last season. Rayford finished third in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) in scoring while ranking in sixth in made three-pointers per game (1.79), seventh in assists and steals, eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.03), and ninth in three-point field goal percentage (36.9%). For his efforts, he was named to the first team All-SAC squad and the Daktronics All-South Atlantic Region second team. Last season he led the team in scoring in 21 of 29 games.

Joining Rayford from the SAC are Kyle Gribble of Carson-Newman College who made the honorable mention squad and Wingate’s Djuan Hankins who made the Super 16 team.

The Blue Hose return three starters and nine letterwinners from last season’s 19-10 squad which finished third in the SAC regular season race with a 10-4 mark and were runner-up for the SAC Tournament title.
