FERRELL SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE MEN’S BASKETBALL

CLINTON, S.C. — Quinton Ferrell have signed national letter of intent to play men’s basketball at Presbyterian College announced today by head coach Gregg Nibert.

Ferrell, a 6-2, 190-pound guard from North Augusta, S.C. played for North Augusta High School and head coach Keith Arrington. He averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds as a senior and led his team to three state playoff appearances and one region title during his high school career.

Individually, Ferrell was named to the all-region team as a junior and senior and participated in the North Carolina/South Carolina All-Star Game.

“Quinton is a great addition to our basketball program,” said Nibert. “He is a strong guard with great skills who can impact the game in a number of ways. He is a great student as well and will be a leader both on the court and in the classroom.”

Ferrell becomes the fifth signee for the Blue Hose this academic year. In November, Sean Dixon of Kennesaw, Ga. signed while Grant Herren of Oviedo, FL, and Ryan Koppel of Ashburn Va. signed last month and earlier this week, Brian Epperly of Roanoke, Va. also signed with the Blue Hose.

Presbyterian College compiled a program-record tying 27 wins against nine losses this past season including a 9-5 ledger in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), good for a fourth place finish. In addition, the Blue Hose finished runner-up for the Food Lion/SAC Tournament and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. In the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional, the Blue Hose defeated #13 Columbus State University (71-59) and Shaw University (77-58) before losing to #10 Bowie State University (67-53) in the region championship game, one win away from the Elite Eight.
