FERRELL
SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE MEN’S BASKETBALL
CLINTON,
S.C. — Quinton Ferrell have signed
national letter of intent to play men’s basketball at
Presbyterian College announced today by head coach Gregg
Nibert.
Ferrell, a 6-2, 190-pound
guard from North Augusta, S.C. played for North Augusta High
School and head coach Keith
Arrington. He averaged 16.0 points, 8.0 assists, 7.0
rebounds as a senior and led his team to three state playoff
appearances and one region title during his high school
career.
Individually, Ferrell was
named to the all-region team as a junior and senior and
participated in the North Carolina/South Carolina All-Star
Game.
“Quinton is a great
addition to our basketball program,” said Nibert. “He is a
strong guard with great skills who can impact the game in a
number of ways. He is a great student as well and will be a
leader both on the court and in the classroom.”
Ferrell becomes the fifth
signee for the Blue Hose this academic year. In November, Sean Dixon of Kennesaw, Ga. signed while Grant Herren of Oviedo, FL, and Ryan Koppel of Ashburn Va. signed last month and earlier this week, Brian
Epperly of Roanoke, Va. also signed with the Blue Hose.
Presbyterian College
compiled a program-record tying 27 wins against nine losses
this past season including a 9-5 ledger in the South Atlantic
Conference (SAC), good for a fourth place finish. In addition,
the Blue Hose finished runner-up for the Food Lion/SAC
Tournament and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division
II National Tournament. In the NCAA Division II South Atlantic
Regional, the Blue Hose defeated #13 Columbus State University
(71-59) and Shaw University (77-58) before losing to #10 Bowie
State University (67-53) in the region championship game, one
win away from the Elite Eight.
