CLINTON, S.C. — Brian Epperly have signed national letter of intent to play men’s basketball at Presbyterian College announced today by head coach Gregg Nibert

Epperly, a 6-6, 245-pound center from Roanoke, Va. played for Patrick Henry High School and head coach Jack Esworthy. He averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and shoot 48.9% from the field as a senior while fighting through a nagging ankle injury throughout the season. Epperly did help lead his team to their first district championship in over a decade with a perfect 8-0 mark.

Individually, Epperly is a three-sport letterwinner in football, basketball and a member of his high school’s lacrosse team which spent the majority of the season ranked in the top 5 in the state. In the classroom, he is a member of the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honor Society and the Beta Club.

“We are very excited that Brian will be joining us at Presbyterian College,” said Nibert. “He is a tremendous student and will add a much needed physical presence to our inside game.”

Epperly becomes the fourth signee for the Blue Hose this academic year. In November, Sean Dixon of Kennesaw, Ga. signed with PC while Grant Herren of Oviedo, FL, and Ryan Koppel of Ashburn Va. signed last month.

Presbyterian College compiled a program-record tying 27 wins against nine losses this past season including a 9-5 ledger in the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), good for a fourth place finish. In addition, the Blue Hose finished runner-up for the Food Lion/SAC Tournament and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II National Tournament. In the NCAA Division II South Atlantic Regional, the Blue Hose defeated #13 Columbus State University (71-59) and Shaw University (77-58) before losing to #10 Bowie State University (67-53) in the region championship game, one win away from the Elite Eight.
