BLUE
HOSE BASKETBALL LISTED AMONG NCAA LEADERS
PC’s Haskins ranked 10th in the nation in 3-Point FG%
CLINTON,
S.C. — Presbyterian College basketball teams is
listed among the NCAA Division II leaders in the latest
statistics announced this week.
The
men’s basketball team (20-4, 6-2 SAC) led by 14th-year
head coach Gregg
Nibert, remained fourth in the nation in scoring
defense (57.0 pts/gm) for the second straight week and
dropped five spots to 27th in field goal percentage
defense (40.3%). The team is also T-20th in win-loss
percentage (83.3%), and moved up 10 spots to 16th in
three-point field goal percentage (40.5%).
On
the women’s basketball team (9-11, 4-4
SAC), junior guard Billie
Haskins (Greensboro,
Ga.) moved up four spots to 10th in the nation in
three-point field goal percentage (44.6%). The team, led
by first-year head coach Leigh Irwin, jumped 11 spots to 19th in the nation in free throw
percentage at 75.6%.
The
Blue Hose men’s and women’s basketball teams return
to South Atlantic Conference action this Wednesday,
February 12 as they travel to Wingate, N.C. to take on
Wingate University. The women’s game is set to tip-off
at 6:00 pm with the men’s game to start approximately
at 8:00 pm.
