BLUE
HOSE MEN’S BASKETBALL LISTED IN FINAL NCAA DIVISION
NATIONAL STATISTICS
CLINTON,
S.C. — The
Presbyterian College men’s basketball team is listed
in several statistical categories in the final NCAA
Division II men’s basketball statistics released
recently by NCAA officials.
The
Blue Hose finished the season ranked 3rd in the nation
in scoring defense, allowing 59.4 points per game. In
addition, the team was 29th in won-loss percentage
(75.0%), 31st in three-point field goal percentage
(39.0%), 40th in field goal percentage defense (41.1%),
and 45th in free throw percentage (73.0%).
Presbyterian
compiled a program-record tying 27 wins against nine
losses this past season including a 9-5 ledger in the
South Atlantic Conference, good for a fourth place
finish. In addition, the Blue Hose finished runner-up
for the Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Tournament
and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division II
National Tournament. In the NCAA Division II South
Atlantic Regional, the Blue Hose defeated #13 Columbus
State University (71-59) and Shaw University (77-58)
before losing to #10 Bowie State University (67-53) in
the region championship game, one win away from the
Elite Eight.
