 BLUE HOSE CRUISE PAST SENATORS 61-46 

CLINTON, S.C. — Presbyterian College’s freshman forward Michael Drum (Rural Hall, N.C.) scored a game-high 11 points with five rebounds as the Blue Hose defeated Lander University 61-46 in men’s basketball action Thursday night. 

The Blue Hose took command of the game from the tip, opening on a 25-5 run highlighted by nine points by Drum. The lead ballooned to as many as 31 points at 36-5 with 6:37 remaining. The Senators managed on 14 first half points as the Blue Hose took a commanding 44-14 lead into halftime. 

PC shot 51.5% from the field before intermission while holding Lander to five-of-22 shooting from the field for 22.7%. The Blue Hose also dominated the boards in the first half, holding a 23-10 edge. 

The second half saw the Blue Hose cool off from the field, hitting only seven-of-26 shots for 26.9%. The Senators were able to shoot 46.2% from the field after halftime and were able to cut the lead to 15 points at 61-46 as time expired. 

Joining Drum for scoring honors was senior center Rod Isom (Anderson, S.C.) and junior guard Andrew Dellinger (Mauertown, Va.) who each added nine points on the night. 

The Senators were led by senior guard Adrian Penland (Flowery Branch, Ga.) who tallied a game-high 19 points followed by junior forward Ron Hampton (Ocala, Fla.) who added 15 points, all in the second half. 

The Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, December 14 as they host the Pirates of Armstrong Atlantic State University at 7:00 pm. The Senators return to action on December 17 as they host the Crusaders of North Greenville College at 7:30 pm.
