PACERS HOLD OFF LATE BLUE HOSE RALLY FOR 69-65 WIN

GREENWOOD, SC— Lee Burton netted 20 points and Curt Triplin added 18 and 10 rebounds Friday night to lead the USC Aiken men's basketball team to a 69-65 non-conference victory over Presbyterian College in the PBC/SAC Clash  in Lander University's Horne Arena.

USCA improves to 1-2 overall, while Presbyterian drops to 2-3.

Burton connected on 7-of-10 field goals and made 4-of-4 free throws to lead the Pacers. Minda Statkus added 11 points for the Pacers.

Presbyterian was led by Michael Drum's game-high 22 points. Drum connected  on 6-of-16 field goals and 10-of-13 free throws. Grant Herren added 12 points for the Blue Hose, while Tray Ballenger had 11 and Sean Dixon 10.

USCA, which led 37-20 at halftime, connected on 23-of-48 field goals for  47.9 percent, while PC was 22-of-50 for 44 percent. The Pacers also beat PC  at the free throw line as they connected on 17-of-21 for 81 percent. PC was 19-of-26 for 73.1 percent.

Presbyterian outscored the Pacers, 45-32, in the second half.
