PC'S ANDREW DELLINGER NAMED SAC MEN'S BASKETBALL 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Blue Hose senior guard wins back-to-back SAC 
Player of the Week honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Presbyterian College's senior guard Andrew Dellinger was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.

 

Dellinger, native of Mauertown, Va., helped the Blue Hose win the 15th Annual Marriott Sodexho Classic in Charlotte, N.C., with a pair of victories over two preseason nationally-ranked opponents.  On Friday, PC defeated No. 25 Eckerd College, 68-62, before downing tenth-ranked Queens, 54-51, in the finals Saturday.

Dellinger was named Tournament MVP after averaging 13.0 points, 3.5 assists, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in PC's win over the weekend.  The senior guard also shot 57 percent from the field, 71 percent from behind three-point line and 83 percent from the charity stripe.

Against Eckerd Friday, Dellinger tallied a game-high 19 points with five assists and two steals and hit four-of-five three-point attempts.  In the championship contest versus Queens, Dellinger totaled seven points, two rebounds and two assists and hit a key three-pointer late in the game that iced the win for the Blue Hose.

The South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's eight sports information directors.
