DELLINGER NAMED CoSIDA ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT III MEN’S
BASKETBALL TEAM
The five-member first and
second teams are selected by voting members of the Collegiate
Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in the
district. Each member of the first team will represent the
district on the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot. In the classroom, Dellinger
carries a 3.74 GPA while majoring in business administration.
He has named to the school’s Dean’s List (3.2 GPA) for
seven semesters, the school’s President’s List (4.0 GPA)
for one semester and named to the South Atlantic Academic
Honor Roll for four straight years. On the court, Dellinger is
second on the team this season scoring (10.7 ppg), assists
(2.5), seventh in rebounds (2.2 rpg) while shooting 52.6% from
the field, 55.4% from three-point range, and 89.8% from the
free throw line. He currently leads the South Atlantic
Conference (SAC) in three-point field goal percentage and
sixth in made three-pointers per game (2.12). For his career, he ranks
fourth in SAC history in career three-point field goal
percentage (47.3%) and has 156 made three-point field goals to
his credit which ranks fifth in program history. The Blue Hose, under the direction of 15th-year head coach Gregg Nibert, have an overall record of 15-9 on the season and are currently tied for third place in the SAC regular season (6-5) with Carson-Newman College and Newberry College.
The following is the 2004 Academic All-District III College Division Men’s Basketball Team as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America). The first team members qualify for the national Academic All-American Team ballot.
