BLUE HOSE MEN’S BASKETBALL OPENS
EXHIBITION SCHEDULE ON FRIDAY
CLINTON, S.C. — The
Presbyterian College men’s basketball team will open the
2004-05 season on Friday, November 5 when they host the
Columbia Sharkheads at 7:00 pm in the Ross E. Templeton
Center.
Ten
letterwinners and five players that started at one point last
season return for Blue Hose head coach Gregg
Nibert, who begins his 16th season at the helm of the PC
men’s basketball program. Nibert, the all-time winningest
men’s basketball coach in the college’s history and a 1979
graduate of Marietta College, enters the 2004-05 campaign with
a 15-year overall record of 264-176.
A
year ago, Nibert and the Blue Hose record a 16-12 overall
record and finished in fifth place in the South Atlantic
Conference regular season with a 7-7 league mark.
This season the Blue Hose are picked to finish fourth
in the South Atlantic Conference regular season standings
based on the preseason coaches poll.
The
Columbia Sharkheads are led by former Blue Hose standouts,
All-American Bret Jones
and All-Region selection Eric
Burrow. Last year on November 8th, the Blue
Hose rolled past the Sharkheads 103-78 behind 14 points from
forward Rich Adams (Columbia,
S.C.) who led five players in double figures.
Season
ticket packages are still available for the upcoming 2004-05
season. This season the season package will contain all 27
home games for both the men’s and women’s teams. Season
ticket packages are priced at $95.00 each, a savings of $22.00
off the individual ticket price. For more information on Blue
