PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL RELEASES 2004-05 SCHEDULE

CLINTON, S.C. — Fifteen home dates and hosting the SAC/PBC Clash highlight the 2004-05 Presbyterian College 27-game regular season men’s basketball schedule announced today by 16th-year head coach Gregg Nibert.

The Blue Hose will open the season with an exhibition game against the Columbia Sharkheads on November 5 before hosting Allen University on November 15 for the regular season opener. PC will hit the road to face North Greenville College (11/18) and USC Upstate (11/23) before returning home on November 26-27 to host the SAC/PBC Clash that pits SAC schools Presbyterian College and Newberry College against Peach Belt schools Lander University and USC Aiken. PC will take the Pacers of USC Aiken on November 26 followed by a matchup the following night versus Lander University. The month will end with a road trip to Raleigh, N.C. to face region foe Shaw University on November 30th.

December opens with the Blue Hose traveling to Greenwood, S.C. to take on Lander University (12/4) followed by three straight home games against North Greenville College (12/9), Erskine College (12/11), and Francis Marion University (12/20). PC will finish their pre-New Year’s schedule with a road game against Queens University of Charlotte on December 30th.

The new year will open with a home game against Southern Wesleyan University on January 3, followed by opening South Atlantic Conference play with a road game against Mars Hill College on January 8. The Blue Hose return home on January 12th to host Wingate University before hitting the road for matchups against Carson-Newman College (1/15) and Newberry College (1/19). The Blue Hose return home to host Lenoir-Rhyne College (1/22) and Tusculum College (1/26) and end the month with a road trip to face Catawba College (1/29).

The month of February opens with a non-conference road game with Allen University (2/2) followed by a home game against Mars Hill College (2/5). PC will return to the road for a trip to Wingate, N.C. to take on Wingate University (2/9), followed by home games against Carson-Newman College (2/12) and Newberry College (2/16). PC’s final regular season road trip will be against Lenoir-Rhyne College (2/19) and Tusculum College (2/23) before returning home on February 26 to host Catawba College for Senior Night.

The 2004-05 Food Lion/South Atlantic Conference Tournament will open on March 2nd with first round matches for the top four seeds. The semifinals and finals will be held from March 4-6 in Hickory, NC on the campus of the Catawba Valley Community College.

“I am very excited about this season’s schedule,” said Nibert. “Our schedule will change our young team early to prepare us for the rigors of South Atlantic Conference action down the stretch.”

PC is coming off a 2003-04 campaign in which they compiled a 16-12 overall record and finished fifth in the SAC regular season race.
