PC’s Tray Ballenger Named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Presbyterian College’s Tray Ballenger  was named South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today. Ballenger, a senior from Wellford, S.C., averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and shot 58.3 percent from the field in leading PC to a 3-0 week.

In a 64-61 overtime victory over Georgia College & State on the road last Tuesday, Ballenger tallied 11 points and five rebounds before leading the Blue Hose to a pair of wins over the weekend in the ninth annual SAC/PBC Clash held on the campus of USC Aiken.

Ballenger, a graduate of James F. Byrnes High School, totaled nine points, five rebounds and assists in PC's 77-61 victory on Friday against Lander University and finished eight-for-10 from the field for a season-high 19 points to along with four rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals in the 76-58 victory over USC Aiken Saturday.

For the season, Ballenger is averaging 11.4 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in helping the Blue Hose (6-1) get off to their best start since the 2001-02 season.

The South Atlantic Conference Player Of The Week is voted on by the league's eight sports information directors.
