BONNER SIGNS WITH BLUE HOSE BASKETBALL PROGRAM

CLINTON, S.C. – Rhett Bonner has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Presbyterian College announced today by 17th-year head coach Gregg Nibert.

Bonner, a 6-1, 165 lb point guard from Yadkinville, N.C., averaged 17 points and five assists per game last season in leading Forbush High School and head coach Marty Sewell to a 19-8 record.  This season he will play for North Forsyth High School and head coach Mike Muse.

“Rhett is a true point guard that is an excellent passer and can push the ball,” Nibert said. “He makes others better because he truly understands the game. He is also an excellent shooter and student.”

Bonner becomes the first member of the Blue Hose 2005-06 recruiting class.

The Blue Hose, who are picked to finish second in the South Atlantic Conference this season, will open the season Friday night as they take part in the Disney Tip Off Classic against the 13th-ranked University of Nebraska-Omaha at 8:30 pm.
