BLUE HOSE MEN'S BASKETBALL MOVES TO SEVENTH IN LATEST

 NCAA DIVISION II SOUTH ATLANTIC REGION POLL

 

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's basketball program moved up two spots to seventh in this week's NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region poll announced today by the NCAA.

The top 10 teams in each of the NCAA's Division II regions were ranked in the poll. Teams will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis through March 1. On March 5, the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championships will be announced, with the top eight teams from each region advancing to participate.

In the South Atlantic Conference, the team that wins the 2006 Food Lion SAC Tournament will receive the automatic bid.

The Blue Hose (16-6, 5-2 SAC), under the direction of 17th-year head coach Gregg Nibert, are ranked seventh in the men's poll. Presbyterian is the only South Atlantic Conference school ranked in the top 10 this week.

The Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, February 4 when they travel to Mars Hill, N.C. to take on Mars Hill College at 4:00 pm.
