BLUE HOSE MEN’S BASKETBALL DROPS TO SIXTH IN LATEST
 NCAA DIVISION II SOUTH ATLANTIC REGION POLL

CLINTON, S.C. — The Presbyterian College men’s basketball program dropped one spot to sixth in this week’s NCAA Division II South Atlantic Region poll announced yesterday by the NCAA Championship Committee.

The top 10 teams in each of the NCAA’s Division II regions were ranked in the poll. Teams will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis through March 1. On March 5, the 64-team field for the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championships will be announced, with the top eight teams from each region advancing to participate. 

In the South Atlantic Conference, the team that wins the 2006 Food Lion SAC Tournament will receive the automatic bid.

The Blue Hose (19-7, 7-3SAC), under the direction of 17th-year head coach Gregg Nibert, are ranked sixth in the men’s poll.

The Blue Hose return to action on Saturday, February 18 when they host the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College (15-8, 9-2 SAC) at 2:00 pm in a battle of the top two teams in the South Atlantic Conference.
