Presbyterian Pulls Away For Win Over Athletes In Action

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian’s Drew Biggs picked up a team-high 17 points off the bench to help the Blue Hose garner a 76-72 exhibition game victory over Athletes In Action at the Templeton Center on Monday evening.

Biggs was 6-for-7 from the field in the contest and was just two boards away from a double-double, finishing with eight rebounds.

Center Martynas Versinskas chimed in with 14 points of his own. Versinskas played in a team-high 24 minutes in the win.

In a balanced effort from PC, the two players were the only two to finish the game in double-digits for the Blue Hose. In total, 10 Blue Hose found their way into the scorebook, with eight PC players finishing with five points or more.

Former USC Upstate basketball standout Chuck Long led Athletes In Action in the loss. Long had a game-high 22 points and three steals. Former South Carolina center John Chappell finished with a double-double, collecting 16 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out with a little over four minutes to go in the contest.

Presbyterian opens its regular season at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Templeton Center against Lander.
