Dixon Named SAC Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Presbyterian College’s Sean Dixon was named the South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.

Dixon, a senior guard from Marietta, Ga., averaged 19.0 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in leading the Blue Hose to a 2-0 record for the week.

Last Tuesday, the Kennesaw Mountain High School graduate scored a game-high 21 points with five three-pointers in PC’s 81-58 win at home against North Greenville before finishing the week with 17 points in a key road victory in overtime against Lander, 60-59, on Saturday.

Presbyterian at 3-0 is off to its best start since opening the 2001-02 season at 4-0.

The Blue Hose have a chance to equal that mark this evening in a home tilt against Allen University at the Templeton Center. Gametime is slated for 7 p.m.

The South Atlantic Conference Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week is voted on by the league’s nine sports information directors.
