PC Loses First Home Game In Over
A Year
CLINTON, S.C. – Led by David Lopez’s game-high 22
points, Lincoln Memorial acquired a 74-57 victory over Presbyterian
College in South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday evening at the
Templeton Center.
The Railsplitters pick up their third conference
win of the year to improve to 3-1 in SAC play and 8-5 overall, while PC
drops its second consecutive league contest to end the day 2-2 in league
action and 9-6 overall.
Lopez was one of three LMU players in double
figures. Beau Brown (Athens, Tenn.) had 14 points in the win and
Artavius Mitchell (Chicago, Ill.) had 11.
Presbyterian was led in the loss by Sean Dixon
(Marietta, Ga.), who finished the game with 18 points and four assists.
The most important statistic from the evening
though was probably the fact that the loss was Presbyterian’s first loss
at the Templeton Center since December of 2005.
Presbyterian was 6-0 at home this season entering
the game against Lincoln Memorial and 14-0 overall since losing to
Georgia College & State at the Templeton Center on Dec. 30, 2005.
The loss also snaps a 10-game home conference
winning streak. The Blue Hose had not lost to a league foe at home prior
to Wednesday’s loss since Feb. 6, 2005 when they fell to Catawba 67-57
at the Templeton Center.
Still, the Blue Hose are 6-1 in the friendly
confines of the Templeton Center this season and 31-3 at home since the
commencement of the 2004-05 basketball season.
Presbyterian will try and begin a new home winning
streak at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13 against Catawba in the second game
of a men’s and women’s basketball twinbill at the Templeton Center.
