PC Remains Unbeaten At Templeton

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian continued its dominance at the Templeton Center in the 2006-07 season and won its third straight game with a dominating 65-42 victory over Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Hose never trailed in the victory that propelled them to 2-0 in SAC play and 9-4 overall.

Presbyterian is now 6-0 in the friendly confines of the Templeton Center in the 2006-07 season. The Blue Hose have also now won 14 straight home games and are 31-2 at home since the outset of the 2004-05 season.

It was a total team effort for the Blue Hose, as only one Presbyterian basketball player scored in double-digits. Sean Dixon (Marietta, Ga.) had the most points for the Blue Hose with 10.

The 10 points also amazingly enough tied for the most points accumulated by a single player in the game. Mars Hill’s Stoney Polite (Morganton, N.C.) had 10 to the lead the Lions in the loss.

In total, 10 Blue Hose scored in the victory. Grant Herren (Oviedo, Fla.) chipped in with nine total points, while Lithuanian Martynas Versinskas added nine of his own.

Thomas Moses (Madisonville, Tenn.) was the Lions second leading scorer in the game with nine total points.

Mars Hill falls to 0-1 in league play with the loss and 4-6 overall.

The Blue Hose have one day off before taking the court once again on Monday, Jan. 8 against the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, N.C. The two teams will play the second game of a doubleheader and are scheduled to get underway at 8 p.m.
