PC Remains Unbeaten At
Templeton
CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian continued its
dominance at the Templeton Center in the 2006-07 season and won its
third straight game with a dominating 65-42 victory over Mars Hill in
South Atlantic Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon.
The Blue Hose never trailed in the victory that
propelled them to 2-0 in SAC play and 9-4 overall.
Presbyterian is now 6-0 in the friendly confines of
the Templeton Center in the 2006-07 season. The Blue Hose have also now
won 14 straight home games and are 31-2 at home since the outset of the
2004-05 season.
It was a total team effort for the Blue Hose, as
only one Presbyterian basketball player scored in double-digits. Sean
Dixon (Marietta, Ga.) had the most points for the Blue Hose with 10.
The 10 points also amazingly enough tied for the
most points accumulated by a single player in the game. Mars Hill’s
Stoney Polite (Morganton, N.C.) had 10 to the lead the Lions in the
loss.
In total, 10 Blue Hose scored in the victory. Grant
Herren (Oviedo, Fla.) chipped in with nine total points, while
Lithuanian Martynas Versinskas added nine of his own.
Thomas Moses (Madisonville, Tenn.) was the Lions
second leading scorer in the game with nine total points.
Mars Hill falls to 0-1 in league play with the loss
and 4-6 overall.
The Blue Hose have one day off before taking the
court once again on Monday, Jan. 8 against the Bears of Lenoir-Rhyne
College in Hickory, N.C. The two teams will play the second game of a
doubleheader and are scheduled to get underway at 8 p.m.
