Miller Becomes Fifth To Sign With PC Men’s
Basketball
CLINTON,
S.C. – Presbyterian College men’s basketball coach Gregg Nibert
announced the signing of Pierre Miller to a National-Letter-of-Intent on
Wednesday. A 5-foot-10 point guard, Miller joins the Blue Hose from
Warner Robbins High School in Warner Robbins, Ga. where he played for
Chip Malone.
Miller
joins the PC basketball program with fellow signees Al’Lonzo Coleman
(Vance, N.C./Vance), Josh Johnson (Hendersonville,
Tenn./Hendersonville), Aaron Gibbs (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and
7-foot center Steven Gatkuoth (Sudan/Centereach, N.Y.) as newcomers for
the 2007-08 basketball season.
“We are
very excited about adding a player from Coach Chip Malone’s program,”
remarked Nibert. “Pierre has enjoyed a tremendous high school career and
will add valuable depth at the point guard position. He is a dedicated
and hard working player who has a passion for the game and loves to
compete. He is a solid student as well and will add a great deal to the
Presbyterian College community.”
A
four-year varsity starter at Warner Robbins, Miller scored over 1,300
points during his high school career. In his final season he averaged 18
points and five assists to lead Warner Robbins to a 19-9 mark and an
appearance in the Georgia 5-A Elite Eight.
A first
team Middle Georgia selection, Miller was awarded the Georgia Coaches
Association 5-A South Player of the Year award at the conclusion of his
senior season. He was also named Houston County’s Player of the Year.
Presbyterian is coming off a 2006-07 season in which they posted a 20-9
record to finish with two consecutive 20-win seasons after posting a
25-9 mark in the 2005-06 campaign. The 2007-08 season will be the first
for the Blue Hose at the NCAA Division I level.
