Miller Becomes Fifth To Sign With PC Men’s Basketball

CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College men’s basketball coach Gregg Nibert announced the signing of Pierre Miller to a National-Letter-of-Intent on Wednesday. A 5-foot-10 point guard, Miller joins the Blue Hose from Warner Robbins High School in Warner Robbins, Ga. where he played for Chip Malone.

Miller joins the PC basketball program with fellow signees Al’Lonzo Coleman (Vance, N.C./Vance), Josh Johnson (Hendersonville, Tenn./Hendersonville), Aaron Gibbs (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and 7-foot center Steven Gatkuoth (Sudan/Centereach, N.Y.) as newcomers for the 2007-08 basketball season.

“We are very excited about adding a player from Coach Chip Malone’s program,” remarked Nibert. “Pierre has enjoyed a tremendous high school career and will add valuable depth at the point guard position. He is a dedicated and hard working player who has a passion for the game and loves to compete. He is a solid student as well and will add a great deal to the Presbyterian College community.”

A four-year varsity starter at Warner Robbins, Miller scored over 1,300 points during his high school career. In his final season he averaged 18 points and five assists to lead Warner Robbins to a 19-9 mark and an appearance in the Georgia 5-A Elite Eight.

A first team Middle Georgia selection, Miller was awarded the Georgia Coaches Association 5-A South Player of the Year award at the conclusion of his senior season. He was also named Houston County’s Player of the Year.

Presbyterian is coming off a 2006-07 season in which they posted a 20-9 record to finish with two consecutive 20-win seasons after posting a 25-9 mark in the 2005-06 campaign. The 2007-08 season will be the first for the Blue Hose at the NCAA Division I level.
