PC Upsets No. 10 Montevallo In FSC Holiday Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. - Despite shooting a sizzling 68.2% from the field in the second half, Presbyterian had to come from behind for a 10-point 82-72 victory over No.10 Montevallo (Ala.) in the Florida Southern Holiday Classic on Saturday night.

After leading 33-32 at halftime, the Blue Hose (7-4) fell behind early in the second half, as Montevallo opened the period with a 14-6 run in the first five and a half minutes to go on top of the Blue Hose 46-39 with 14:22 remaining. 

Bryan Bostic's three pointer at the 10:46 mark put the Blue Hose back in front 54-52 and PC never relinquished the lead.

Sean Dixon led Presbyterian in the victory with 23 points, including five three-pointers. The Marietta, Ga. native also dished out six assists.

Bostic finished with a career-best 19 points, usurping his previous career high of 17 set in a conference game with Carson-Newman last season. The Norcross (Ga.) High School product pulled down six boards.

Starting for the first time in his career in the victory over Montevallo, Travis Sligh (Columbia, S.C.) added 12 points, while Grant Herren (Oviedo, Fla.) tossed in 10 of his own. 

For the game the Blue Hose shot 59.6% from the field and hit 10 of 21 three-point attempts. 

Greg Brown led Montevallo (9-4) in the loss with 21 points.

Presbyterian (7-4) enters South Atlantic Conference action at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3 when they square off against Tusculum in Greeneville, Tenn.

The Blue Hose then look to go a perfect 6-0 on the season at home when they welcome Mars Hill to the Templeton Center on Saturday, Jan. 6 for their first league home game of the season. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
