BLUE HOSE CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS FORRESTER & BRADEN NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION II SOUTHEAST ALL-REGION TEAMS

GREENSBORO, NC — Presbyterian College cross country runners freshman Tanith Forrester (Lexington, SC) and senior Zach Braden (Covington, GA) were named to the NCAA Division II Southeast All-Region teams announced over the weekend.

Braden, a product of Newton High School, ended his collegiate running career in dramatic fashion. Braden won two meets, the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational and the 2000 South Atlantic Conference Championships en route to the 2000 SAC Player of the Year honors and helped his team to a program-best second place finish. He led the team to two meets wins this season, another program-record, and a seventh place finish at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. Braden finished 13th at this past weekend’s NCAA regional to earn All-Region honors.

The men’s and women’s cross country teams are under the direction of third-year head coach Leigh Irwin. Irwin and assistant coach Mike Rosolino helped lead the program to it’s most successful season ever. The program started five years ago as a club sport and now has become one of the top up and coming programs in NCAA Division II.
