MEN
FINISHES SIXTH IN SOGGY FOURTH
ANNUAL LAND OF THE SKY
SWANNANOA,
NC – The Blue Hose women's and men's cross country teams
finished fifth and sixth respectively in Saturday's Fourth
Annual Land of the Sky Cross Country Invitational.
Conditions were wet and soggy due to overnight rainfall.
The women’s event missed rainfall but the men raced
in both steady rain and drizzle.

In
the men’s event, senior Jack Carmody (Atlanta,
GA) led the Blue Hose with a 16th place finish and a
time of 30:45. Also finishing in the top 20 for PC
was senior Drew Brannon (Knoxville, TN) who
posted a time of 30:51. Catawba
College's Ryan Willis (Jonesboro, GA) won the
men's race with a time of 28:05. Mars
Hill scored a team low 37 points to win the race.
Brevard College (76) placed second as a team in
the men’s event followed by Lincoln Memorial (79) in
third place, Catawba (97) in fourth place, Southern
Virginia (113) in fifth place, Southern Wesleyan (177)
in seventh place, and UVA Wise (186) in eighth place. |

the women’s race, junior
Tanith Forrester (Lexington, SC) finished
eighth with a time of 22:23 to lead the Blue Hose.
Sophomore Kate Whipple (Columbia, SC) came in at
22nd and a time of 23:54 to round out the top finishers
for PC. Mars
Hill's Stacy Mark (New Carlisle, IN) won the race
and set a new course record
with a time of 20:15. Brevard
College scored a team low 32 points to win the event.
Mars Hill (56) placed second as a team followed
by Southern Virginia University (86) in third place,
Lincoln Memorial University (106) in fourth place,
Southern Wesleyan University (132) in sixth place and
Montreat College (195) in seventh place. |
