HILL MEN AND WOMEN WIN WINGATE XCC

WINGATE, N.C.- The Mars Hill College men’s
cross country team placed two runners (Craig
Eckstein and James
Thompson) in the top ten to finish first in the Wingate
University Invitational cross country meet Saturday. Eckstein
(26:55) led the team with a first-place finish, while Thompson
(27:44) finished the race in sixth place.
Runner-up Pfeiffer University was led by Chris
Hiatt, who finished second with a time of 26:58. Host
Wingate University finished fifth in the men’s race. The
Bulldogs were paced by senior Aref
Jallali and his 8K time of 27:39, giving him fifth among 107
runners.
Presbyterian College finished in 10th place and were led by freshman Matthew Elliott (Green Sea, S.C.) who finished 27th with a time of 28:38.46.
