ELLIOTT CAPTURES FRANCIS MARION INVITATIONAL MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY MEET AS BLUE HOSE FINISH SECOND

FLORENCE, S.C. – Junior Matthew Elliott (Green Sea, S.C.) brought home individual honors as Elliott captured the 17^th Annual Francis Marion University Invitational Cross Country Meet and led the Presbyterian College men’s cross country team to a second-place finish on Saturday morning in the five-team field with 43 points.

Elliott ran the 4.57-mile race in 24:41.99, which was 50 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Limestone College’s Brent Clausing.

North Greenville College took home the men’s team title with a low score of 37 points as the Crusaders captured four Top 10 finishes.

Senior Nicholas Williams (Greenwood, S.C.) placed sixth in 26:31.06, while junior Nate Price (Atlanta, Ga.) came in seventh with his time of 26:48.69 to help the Blue Hose to their second-place finish.
