Elliott Garners SAC Runner of the Week
Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. –
Presbyterian College’s Matthew Elliott was named the South
Atlantic Conference (SAC) Men’s Runner of the Week,
conference officials announced today. This is the first
time this season that Elliott has won the award, but the
third time in his career.
Elliott,
a 6-1, 155-pound senior from Green Sea, S.C. (Green Sea
Floyds) took runner-up honors with his personal best time of
26:39.97 in the 8K event at the Blue Hose Invitational,
leading the host Blue Hose to a second-place finish in their
own invitational.
A
team co-captain this season, Elliott has helped Presbyterian
to four second-place finishes and an eighth-place finish out
of 22 teams at the Eye Opener Meet.
The
conference's eight-member institution's sports information
directors select the 2006 SAC Cross Country Runners of the
Week.
