BLUE HOSE GOLFERS FINISH FIFTH AT 
PIRATE FALL INTERCOLLEGIATE

GREENVILLE, NC – The Presbyterian College men’s golf team shot a closing round 298 to claim a fifth place finish at the 2005 Pirate Fall Intercollegiate held earlier this week on the par-72, 7,145-yard Bradford Creek Country Club.

Host East Carolina University won the tournament after shooting a three-round total of 865, eleven shots ahead of second place finisher Campbell University.

PC finished ahead of nine schools, including seven division I schools.

Freshman Rob Varner (Columbus, Ga.) led the way for the Blue Hose, finishing with a 219 total, good for a tenth place finish. Another freshman, Taylor Thomas (Columbus, Ga.), was the next PC player on the leader board as he had a total of 226, good for a 29th place finish.

This tournament concluded PC’s fall schedule. The Blue Hose will hit the links once again on February 20-21 as they host the PC Intercollegiate at Musgrove Mill Golf Course.
