BLUE HOSE MEN’S GOLF T-5th AFTER FIRST ROUND
 OF THE 2006 RICHARD RENDLEMAN INVITATIONAL
PC’s Patrick Townes shoots a first round 68 to lead the tournament

SALISBURY, N.C. — Presbyterian College junior Patrick Townes (Summerville, S.C.) shot an opening round three-under par 68 to take a one shot lead at the 2006 Richard Rendlemen Invitational held at the 6,665-yard, par-71 Country Club of Salisbury on Monday. The Blue Hose as a team placed tied for fifth with UNC-Pembroke after the opening round with a score of 301.

The Blue Hose are 11 strokes behind first round leader, Pfeiffer University who shot 290 on Monday. Belmont Abbey College is second at 294, while Tusculum College and Queens University of Charlotte are tied for third at 299.

Joining Townes for the Blue Hose was sophomore Hugh Morrison (Macon, Ga.), who is tied for 14th in a score of 73. Freshman Andy Karns (Gaffney, S.C.) is T-47th with a score of 78, junior Ben Karns (Gaffney, S.C.) is T-76 with a score of 82, and freshman Taylor Thomas (Columbus, Ga.) is T-84th with a 85.

The final round of the 2006 Richard Rendleman Invitational will start Tuesday morning.
