BLUE HOSE MEN’S GOLF FINISHES TIED FOR FIFTH AT
THE 2006 RICHARD RENDLEMAN INVITATIONAL
PC’s Patrick Townes earns medalist honors after finishing T-2nd

SALISBURY, N.C. — Presbyterian College junior Patrick Townes (Summerville, S.C.) shot an closing round 75 to finish tied for second place, while the Blue Hose as a team finished tied for fifth after the final round 2006 Richard Rendlemen Invitational held at the 6,665-yard, par-71 Country Club of Salisbury on Tuesday. The Blue Hose shot a closing round 301 to post a two-day score of 602 to tie with Newberry College.

Pfeiffer University won the tournament with a two-day score of 586 and led wire-to-wire. Belmont Abbey College finished second at 588, followed by Tusculum College (593), and North Carolina-Pembroke (599).

Joining Townes for the Blue Hose was junior Ben Karns (Gaffney, S.C.) who finished T-30^th with a score of 152, followed by sophomore Hugh Morrison (Macon, Ga.) who T-37^th with a score of 153. Freshman Andy Karns (Gaffney, S.C.) finished T-42^nd with a score of 154 and freshman Taylor Thomas (Columbus, Ga.) placed 88^th with a score of 174.
