PC SITS IN SIXTH AFTER FIRST DAY OF SOUTH ATLANTIC CONFERENCE MEN’S GOLF TOURNAMENT
CLINTON, S.C.- Presbyterian College’s golf team shot a 607 as a team after the first day of the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men’s Golf Tournament at the Lake Hickory Country Club at Catawba Springs in Hickory, N.C. Lenoir-Rhyne College sits in first after shooting 580 after 36 holes on the par-72, 6,610-yard course.
PC’s sophomore Hugh Morrison (Macon, Ga.) leads the PC golfers. After one day he sits tied in 18th place seven strokes back from the leader. Freshman Rob Varner (Columbus, Ga.) is one stroke behind Morrison.
The final 18-hole round of the tournament will be played Tuesday.
