PC Finishes 11th At Aflac/Cougar Invitational

Final Results

COLUMBUS, GA - Columbus State rallied from eight shots back after Monday's first round and won its own event on Tuesday, taking the Aflac/Cougar Invitational by seven shots over Valdosta State, Georgia College & State University and Barry. The Cougars shot a final-round 280 (-4) and were the only team to post an under-par round on Tuesday at the par-72 Green Island Country Club.

Presbyterian improved dramatically as a team on the second and final day of action at the event, carding a team round of 288 on Tuesday after shooting a 301 on Monday in the first round.

Presbyterian’s two-round total of 589 left them in sole possession of 11th.

Individually, Presbyterian’s Hugh Morrison and Patrick Coleman both garnered two-day totals of 145 to finish the event tied for 27th. Teammate Patrick Townes acquired a two-round output of 147 to finish in a tie for 37th.

In the overall individual standings, it took an extra hole before Armstrong

Atlantic State's Chris Wolfe defeated Johan Cronvall of GC&SU on the first playoff hole. Wolfe posted a final round 69 to match his round from Monday, while Cronvall carded a 70 in the final round to finish at 138 in a deadlock at -4. Playing the 18th, Cronvall left his approach short of the green. Wolfe then landed his approach about eight feet past the hole and it spun back to inside two feet. After Cronvall failed to convert his chip and settled for a bogey, Wolfe rolled in the easy birdie for the win.

West Florida (575, +7) finished fifth, followed by Nova Southeastern (577, +9), North Alabama (578, +10), Armstrong Atlantic State (581,  +13), USC Aiken (583, +15), and UNC Pembroke (587, +19). Presbyterian was 11th, followed by Lander, Belmont Abbey, USC Upstate, Catawba, Coker, Clayton State and Delta State.
