Presbyterian Wins BMW Collegiate

Final Round Results

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Presbyterian College shot a 296 Tuesday to rally for the team title in the 12th Annual BMW Collegiate Golf Tournament at Verdae Greens Golf Club. The Blue Hose shot 297-296 to finish with a 593 team total to run away with the title.

Barton College finished second, nine shots back at 602.

The title is the first for the Blue Hose in Thomas Addison’s two years as head coach. The last time PC claimed a team title in an event was at the 2005 South Atlantic Conference championship when Addison’s father, Tommy, was still coaching the golf team at PC.

The Blue Hose had two players finish in the top ten in the event as Thomas Todd (72-76) and Patrick Coleman (74-74) both tied for seventh with two others with a two-day total of 148.

PC’s Patrick Townes (74-75) finished tied for 11th with a two round output of 149.

Barton's Stephen Harrison won the individual crown, carding a one-over-par 73 Tuesday to finish with a two-day score of 144 (71-73). The best round Tuesday belonged to St. Andrews Presbyterian’s Alvin Young, who shot a 71.

Tommy Bell (University of Mobile, 74-72-146) finished second, while John Kolls (St. Andrews, 74-73-147), Jordan Holley (Cape Fear CC, 73-74-147), Paul Butler (Limestone, 72-75-147), and Kurt Owings (Anderson, 70-77-147) all tied for third place.

After Presbyterian and Barton, Clayton State (306-300-606), St. Andrews Presbyterian (311-298-609), and Anderson (295-316-611) rounded out the top five.

The BMW Collegiate was the final regular season tournament for the Blue Hose. PC will play in the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf Championship in Hickory, N.C. on April 15-17.
