Karns In First Place After First Day Of Richard Rendleman Invitational

First Round Results

SALISBURY, N.C. – Presbyterian’s Ben Karns concluded the first day of the 2007 Richard Rendleman Invitational at the par 71 Country Club of Salisbury tied for first place with Georgia Southwestern’s Johnny Pagura. Karns and Pagura both fired two-under-par 69s in the first round.

Karns is one of two PC golfers in the top 10 in the event after day one. Teammate Hugh Morrison is tied with four others for eighth place individually after shooting a 73 in the first round

As a team, Presbyterian is in third place at the event after the first round. The Blue Hose carded a cumulative 296 as a team to sit five strokes away from first place and three-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion USC-Aiken.

UNC Pembroke is in second place just one stroke ahead of the Blue Hose with a first round score of 295.

The second and final round of the Richard Rendleman Invitational is set for Tuesday, March 6.
