PC Ranked 16th In Latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll

NEW YORK – Presbyterian’s men’s golf team was ranked 16th in the latest Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll.

The Blue Hose are the only team ranked from the South Atlantic Conference and one of three teams ranked from the Palmetto state.

Three-time defending NCAA Division II national champion USC-Aiken is the highest ranked team from South Carolina, coming in at No. 10 just one day after winning the Cleveland Golf/Palmetto Intercollegiate. USC Upstate (No. 19)  is the other squad ranked from South Carolina

The Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll combines the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The complete results, including results from Divisions I, III and the NAIA, will appear in the March 16 issue of Golf World and can be viewed online now at www.golfworld.com/menspoll.

West Florida has claimed the top spot from Florida Southern after dominating the field at last week’s 57th Southern California Intercollegiate, winning by 27 shots. All five starters finished in the top 11 individually, led by senior Leonardo Di Marino’s second place showing.

Rounding out the top five are: Florida Southern (No.2); Barry (No.3); Columbus State (No.4); St. Edward’s (No.5).
