PC’s Morrison Finishes
Second At Southeastern Collegiate
Final Round Results
VALDOSTA, Ga. – Presbyterian College’s Hugh Morrison
carded a three-round score of one-under-par 215 (72-69-74)
to finish second at the Southeastern Collegiate, hosted by
Valdosta State at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Morrison (Macon, Ga.) is the third Blue Hose golfer to
finish in the top two in an event in the 2007 spring season
as PC has placed a student-athlete in the top two in three
of its four events so far in the spring.
Ranked 16th in NCAA Division II, Presbyterian concluded the
Southeastern Collegiate as a team in seventh place with a
cumulative team score of 897.
West Florida registered a final round 289 (+1) Tuesday to
claim a seven stroke victory at the Southeastern Collegiate.
The Argonauts, who won the tournament for the second
straight year, shot an 866 (+2) for the tournament and were
led by David Lingmerth, who shot a six-under 210 to claim
medalist honors.
Florida Southern used a final day rally to move into second
place overall, shooting a 291 (+3) to finish nine-over par
at 873 while Nova Southeastern finished with a three-round
total of 878 (+14) after shooting a 299 (+11) on Tuesday.
West Florida’s David Lingmerth claimed individual medalist
honors at the event.
Lingmerth and Morrison were the only golfers in the event to
finish under par after the final round.
Florida Southern’s Greg Kock shot an even-par 216 to finish
third while Matthew Galloway of West Florida, Scott
Aydelotte of Lynn and North Alabama’s Wes Smith were all
one-over (217) and tied for fourth.
