Todd Ties For Ninth At
NCAA Division II Southeast Regional
Final Results
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Presbyterian College
finished the final round of the 2007 NCAA Division II Men’s
Golf Southeast Regional in seventh place with a three-day
score of 952 (318-320-314). The event was held at the par 72
Savannah Quarters Country Club.
The Blue Hose conclude the 2006-07 golf
season with two team victories after earning wins at the BMW
Collegiate and the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Golf
Tournament. Both victories came in the month of April.
Presbyterian was paced at the regional
by Thomas Todd (Laurens, S.C.), who ended the event in a tie
for ninth place with a three-day score of 230 (76-77-77). He
was one of two Blue Hose golfers in the top 20 in the event
as Ben Karns (Gaffney, S.C.) tied for 17th with a
three-round score of 235 (81-76-78).
The 2007 South Atlantic Conference
Golfer of the Year, PC’s Hugh Morrison (Macon, Ga.) finished
tied for 29th at the regional with a score of 242
(83-82-77). Patrick Townes (Summerville, S.C.) carded a
three-round score of 245 (78-85-82) to finish with sole
possession of 35th place, while Patrick Coleman
(Columbus, Ga.) ended his efforts at the three-round event
in 42nd with a three-day score of 263 (87-89-87).
Columbus State claimed the victory at
the event with a team cumulative three-round tally of 900
(303-304-293). Lander’s Jake Amos won individual medalist
honors after concluding the final round with a 72 to finish
with a three-day total of 223 (75-76-72).
Columbus’ State’s Andrew Georgiou fired
the only under-par round of the event on Wednesday with a
two-under par score of 70 to finish one stroke behind Amos
overall individually at 224.
