20-5 To Limestone In Regular Season Opener
GAFFNEY, S.C.—The Limestone College Saints opened
their season with a 20-5 win over Presbyterian on Saturday
afternoon at Saints Field.
Limestone is off to a 1-0 start this season while the Blue
Hose are 0-1.
Presbyterian was led in the loss by Sean Mulford (Towson,
Md.), who had two goals. Brian Foley (Charlotte, N.C.),
George McManus (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) and Jeremy Metcalfe
(Dallas, Ga.) each added one goal in the contest.
Blue Hose goalkeeper Pat Slaughter had 10 saves during the
contest.
Eleven Saints scored in the win.
AJ Vaughn (Skaneatdes, N.Y.) led the Saints with six goals.
Derek Franzen (Mansfield, Mass.), Jake Rogalia (Liverpool,
N.Y.), and Colin Bell (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada)
each scored two goals.
Vaughn had five assists, while Franzen had three.
Saints’ goalkeeper Marty Ward (Syracuse, N.Y.) had 12 saves
while Brian McDonagh (Eagle, Idaho) had two.
PC has 11 days off before returning to action for their
second game of the season against VMI at 3:30 p.m. on
Wednesday, Feb. 28.
