White Scores Twice In Loss To Mars Hill

CLINTON, S.C. – PC freshman Jake White (Overlea, Md.) had two goals, but it was not enough as the Blue Hose fell 14-7 to Mars Hill in Deep South Conference men’s lacrosse action on Tuesday evening at Martin Stadium.

The loss drops PC to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in DSC action on the 2007 campaign, while Mars Hill wins its second game of the year and first league tilt to improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the Deep South.

Danny Farmer of Mars Hill led all scorers in the game with four goals. The Calgary, Alberta, Canada native also had a team-high tying two assists.

Three Mars Hill players scored two or more goals. David Hodgins (Windsor, Ontario, Canada) had two goals and two assists, while Kevin Woods (New Market, Ontario, Canada) had two goals.

MHC’s Christian McLean (Orchard Park, N.Y.) finished the game with two assists.

Presbyterian’s Sean Mulford (Towson, Md.) aided the Blue Hose cause in the game with two assists and a goal. Six different PC players scored in the contest.

Ben Ewing (Atlanta, Ga.) scooped up a game-high eight ground balls.

Mars Hill outshot the Blue Hose by five shots (44-39) in the game. The Lions also picked up more ground balls (39-35) than the Blue Hose.

Mars Hill’s Nick Sigona played the first 49 minutes of the contest to pick up his second win of the season in the cage. Pat Slaughter (Lutherville, Md.) played the entire game between the pipes for the Blue Hose, saving 15 Mars Hill shots.

Presbyterian next welcomes Pfeiffer to its Clinton, S.C. campus for a 4 p.m. contest on Friday, March 9 at Old Bailey Stadium.
