Presbyterian College’s Hector Rincon Named Food Lion SAC Men's Tennis Tournament MVP

ROCK HILL, SC -- Presbyterian College senior men's tennis player Hector Rincon (London, England) was named Most Valuable Player of the 2006 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament, after helping to lead the Blue Hose to the tournament title.  

Rincon, the 2006 SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year, defeated Mars Hill's Diego Rodriguez 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles in the semifinals. He also teamed with Aaron Chapman to win their doubles matches in the semifinals and finals.

Rincon was one of five Blue Hose named to the All-Tournament team. Other Presbyterian team members are seniors Nick Osborne (Hutton Rudby, England) and Kshitij Dwivedi (New Delhi, India), and freshmen Aaron Chapman (Perth, Australia), and Patrick Fediuk (Kimberley, Canada).

Tournament runner-up Carson-Newman had a pair on the All-Tournament Team with Ricardo Gutierrez and Rafael Soares selected.

Mars Hill College’s Oscar Gomez rounds out the All-Tournament team.
