Sunday, March 12, 2006 #19 FLORIDA GULF COAST SLIPS PAST #26 BLUE HOSE, 5-4, IN MEN’S TENNIS ACTION FORT MYERS, FLA. – The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team dropped a close one on Sunday afternoon, falling 5-4 to No. 19 Florida Gulf Coast University. The Blue Hose fall to 5-3 on the year, while FGCU improves to 9-1 overall.

Senior Hector Rincon (London, England) won at No. 2 singles for the Blue Hose as he beat Gutierrez, who is ranked No. 46 in Division II, 6-2, 7-5. Also winning for PC was freshman Aaron Chapman (Mount Pleasant, Australia) as Chapman earned the 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles against senior Tim Offerman (Hamburg, Germany). Osborne won PC’s other point with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4 against Manders. The Blue Hose return to action tomorrow as PC takes on No. 7 Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla., at 3:00.
