CLINTON,
S.C. — The
Presbyterian College men’s and women’s tennis teams picked
up victories over the visiting Saints of Limestone College
this afternoon on PC’s Templeton Courts. The No. 25-ranked
Blue Hose men’s team won 7-2 over No. 40 Limestone, while
the No. 31st Blue Hose women’s tennis team won
7-2 over the No. 39 Saints. The PC men improve to 7-6 on the
season, while Limestone falls to 14-8, The PC women improve
to 10-2 on the season, while the Saints fall to 17-6.
In the men’s game, PC won at No. 1 & 2 doubles to open a
2-1 lead entering singles play. PC won five of the six
singles matches, all in straight sets to secure the victory.
In the women’s match, the Lady Blue Hose took a commanding
3-0 lead after sweeping all three doubles matches. Limestone
picked up wins in singles at the top two flights, but PC won
the rest of the singles match down the line to secure the
victory.
The Lady Blue Hose return to action on Friday, March 31 by
hosting No. 13 Francis Marion University at 3:00 pm. PC’s
men’s and women’s teams both return to action this weekend
with a pair of South Atlantic Conference match-ups. On
Saturday, April 1, PC hosts the Eagles of Carson-Newman
College at 10:00 am, while on Sunday, the Blue Hose host the
Pioneers of Tusculum College at 1:00 pm in matches that will
go along way to decide the SAC regular season champion in
both sports.
