BLUE HOSE MEN‘S TENNIS JUMPS
NINE SPOTS TO
NO. 16 NATIONALLY
CLINTON, S.C. —
The Presbyterian College men’s tennis team made an
impressive move in the latest Fila Collegiate
Division II National Rankings released April 28, going up
nine places to be ranked No. 16 nationally as the Blue Hose
head into the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Southeast
Regional on May 4-6 hosted by Barry University.
PC
(14-6, 5-0 SAC) was ranked 25th in the last poll
which came out on April 7. Presbyterian is one of three
South Atlantic Conference schools ranked in the poll.
Carson-Newman College is ranked No. 37 nationally, while
Tusculum College is No. 39. The Blue Hose are 3-4 this
season against teams ranked in the Fila Collegiate
Division II National Rankings.
PC returns to action on
Friday, May 6, at 3:30 when the Blue Hose face No. 8 Eckerd
College in the second semifinal of the Southeast Regional.
These two teams met this season back on March 16 with the
Tritons prevailing at home 7-2. Carson-Newman will take on
No. 6 Barry in the first semifinal at 12:30. The two
semifinal winners will advance to the regional championship
on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
