PC Downs Bloomsburg 9-0

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – No. 20 Presbyterian College’s men’s tennis concluded its four-game neutral site road swing with a 9-0 victory over Bloomsburg on Wednesday morning.

The Blue Hose were 3-1 this week, earning wins over West Liberty State, Tiffin and Bloomsburg. The only contest that the 6-4 Blue Hose lost was to NCAA Division I opponent Coastal Carolina.

Aaron Chapman won at No. 1 singles against Bloomsburg to improve to 4-0 during PC’s time in Hilton Head and a team-best 8-2 on the season. Chapman defeated Bloomsburg’s Gal 6-4, 4-6, 10-8.

Chapman also teamed with doubles partner Matthew Martin to defeat Bloomsburg’s tandem of Gal/Glubo, 8-3. Chapman and Martin, who are ranked 22nd in the nation as a duo, were 4-0 in PC’s 3-1 week.

Sophomore Adam Herendeen tallied his first individual win of the 2007 season against Bloomsburg, taking a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Marra at No. 6 singles.

PC next welcomes rival Newberry to the Templeton Tennis Courts for a South Atlantic Conference match at 2 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 19.
