PC Downs Coker Easily 8-1

CLINTON, S.C. – No. 27 Presbyterian College claimed its fifth consecutive victory on Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over Coker College at the Templeton Tennis Courts.

The Blue Hose are now 10-4 on the season.

PC opened the match with the Cobras by obtaining all three doubles matches.

The 22nd-ranked tandem in NCAA Division II, PC’s Aaron Chapman (Perth, Australia) and Matthew Martin (Surrey, British Columbia, Canada) picked up an 8-0 win over Coker’s duo of Tim Morton and Esteban Teran at No. 1 doubles.

Zach Glanker (Highland Village, Texas) and partner Andrew Lee (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles, while Patrick Fediuk (Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada) and partner Michael Nicol (Spartanburg, S.C.) acquired an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Playing at No. 1 singles, Martin downed Coker’s Duncan Grew 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Ruan Oliver (Welkom, South Africa) won a hard fought contest at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 6-4, 10-2.

Fediuck defeated the Cobras’ James Schroeder 6-4, 6-4 at No. 4 singles, while Lee downed Coker’s Danny Nash 6-1, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.

Mark Cannatelli (Melbourne, Australia) defeated Coker’s Austin Yager 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

Presbyterian next travels to Lees-McRae for a match at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 in Banner Elk, N.C.
