PC Men's Tennis Team Wins Second Straight
DUE WEST, S.C. – No. 20 Presbyterian College defeated Erskine College 8-1 on Wednesday afternoon to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Presbyterian opened the match by garnering victories in all three of the doubles matches. Presbyterian’s doubles tandem of Aaron Chapman-Matthew Martin won at No. 1 doubles by defeating the Flying Fleet’s Sammy Zingales-Billy Simpson with a score of 8-0.
Brad Luciuk-Michael Nicol made the score 2-0 in favor of PC with their 8-1 win over Erskine’s Caleb Barnes-Ben Taylor. Presbyterian went up 3-0 when Ruan Olivier-Andrew Lee defeated G. Rebollo-R. Miller at No. 2 doubles with a score of 8-4.
PC’s Andrew Lee won at No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over the Flying Fleet’s Jacob Gregory. Patrick Fediuk won at No. 5 singles with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Ben Taylor. Matthew Martin defeated Erskine’s Sammy Zingales with a score of 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 singles.
Mike Nicol won at No. 4 singles for the Blue Hose with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Billy Simpson. PC’s Ruan Olivier defeated Caleb Barnes with his 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles. G. Rebollo had the only victory of the day for Erskine when he won at No. 1 singles with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 over Aaron Chapman.
Presbyterian is back in action this Friday, March 2 as they travel to Anderson University for a 2:30 p.m. match.
