No. 20 PC Falls To No. 12
Florida Southern In Men's Tennis
CLINTON, S.C. –
In a battle of two top 20 teams, No. 12 Florida Southern
claimed a 6-3 victory over No. 20 Presbyterian College on
Tuesday afternoon at the Templeton Tennis Courts.
Presbyterian claimed one of the three doubles matches as
Zach Glanker and partner Andrew Lee downed the Florida
Southern tandem of Justin LaFlamme and Guenther Fercher at
No. 2 doubles, 9-8.
The Blue Hose picked up two victories in singles. Matthew
Martin improved to 5-1 on the season individually with his
defeat of the Mocs’ Isaac Galindo, 2-6, 7-5, 10-5 at No. 2
singles.
PC’s Patrick Fediuk acquired a win at No. 5 doubles with a
6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win over Florida Southern’s Guenther Fercher.
Presbyterian (3-3) next travels to Hilton Head, S.C. where
they will face off against four different teams over a
five-day period.
The Blue Hose will begin their time in Hilton Head at 3 p.m.
on Saturday, March 10 with a match against Tiffin. They will
then face off against West Liberty State at 12 noon on
Sunday, March 11.
Presbyterian will then play Coastal Carolina at 9 a.m. on
Monday, March 12 before ending its time in Hilton Head with
a match against Bloomsburg at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14.
