PC Fares Well On Day One At ITA Southeast Regional
Presbyterian fared well during the
first day of the Wilson ITA Southeast Regional Tournament on
the campus of Florida Southern on the men’s and women’s
side.
Men’s
Patrick Fediuk defeated St. Leo’s Saif
Noorsumar in straight sets (6-2, 6-3) in the first round
main draw singles, while teammate Aaron Chapman downed
Andrew Thornton 6-2, 6-2.
Both players advanced to the round of
32, but only Chapman was able to acquire a victory in the
second round. Chapman commandeered a win over league rival
Michael Swanson of Carson-Newman to move into Friday’s round
of 16.
Chapman and doubles partner Matthew
Martin procured a win in doubles as well, earning a 8-6 win
over the doubles team of Noah-John of Rollins.

Women’s
Catherine Bankhead obtained a win over
Palm Beach Atlantic’s Christina Gray (6-2, 6-4) and teammate
Lauren Brown was victorious over Florida Gulf Coast’s Krista
Polulak.
Brown easily picked up a win in game
one by a margin of 6-3 before tallying a hard-fought 7-6
victory in game two to solidify a win in the round of 64.
Brown will face off against Meri Gol of
Florida Southern at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The PC women’s doubles team of Bankhead
and Waldron defeated BU’s tandem of Contreras and Wisniewski
8-5 to move on to the next round.
